Whatever Happened To Friendster?
First, a hilarious mock-clip from Onion News Network:
Although I was laughing out loud watching the clip, I noticed that the Friendster page they featured was the old one. I remember that Friendster changed its look some time ago, so I decided to take a look again at my profile.
Bingo! Here is what it now looks like:
A cursory browsing revealed that there were several women offering sex who posted on my “testimonial” page (the precursor of Facebook’s wall). I had four friend requests, one of them from a woman who insisted, “No Horny Dickheads Allowed!!! Sexy + Cute Gurlz and Decent Guyz Only Accepted!!!” yet her profile picture showed her wearing a barely-there dress and striking a provocative pose. On the “activity stream” (which is their equivalent of FB’s status bar) I saw that some of my friends were still doing some form of activity in Friendster.
This is so uncool, but I have friends back in the province who still prefer Friendster over any social networking site. Thus, the reason why I can't delete my account.
And I think the last time I opened my FS, I retweaked my profile so it would still be pleasing to the eyes. hahahahah
@SOMELOSTBOY: The Philippines still leads world-wide in terms of Friendster usage, and is strongest in Asia; thus, it still won't "die" anytime soon here. =)
i checked mine while i was reading this and..well. I dont want to be a bitch but friendster sounds like a desperate fat bitch whose hungry for attention. I wonder how many deletes their account on fs daily? Somebody should deffo make a stat from it

It was most fulfilling when I deleted my Friendster account. Haha.
i can't seem to delete mine. i don't really know why. but then again, i still have my textbooks from grade school so.. haha

@ʎonqʎʇıɔ: Go to "Settings" and there's an option there to "cancel profile" (or "delete" or something similar). =)
it's more of an internal thing. i can't cancel it! it was such a big part of my life. haha it's everyone's cyber foreskin. lol
