I get to the office very early and I see new green and gray wooden cabinets installed on our desks. I thought, great, we can use those.
But then I noticed them:
They’re little green Buddhas! Our interior designer actually incorporated them into her design.
But what’s up with them? We’re not a Chinese-owned company. Someone said because none of us are Buddhists, the statues look cute to us. It would be different if we went to work and found little Jesus statues on our desks. I mean, let’s face it. In a battle for cuteness, Buddha wins hands-down. Fat wins over wounded and crucified all the time.
And since we have Buddha in different poses, I guess our office can use a reclining Buddha as well:

Nyaahahaha... I'm a follower na!
Oh my god... I backread your posts and it says in one of them that you transferred to your new office from RCBC... and one of the units on our floor was vacated at just about the time that you moved in to your new location... and two plus two equals you might be working for the direct marketing arm of an advertising agency with Dentsu in its name... But I could be wrong.
hindi ba dapat yung right hand mo naksupport sa ulo at yung left hand humahampas sa pwet? :)
@ANONIMUS: And now I'm following you. =)
We used to have offices on the 20th and the 27th floors of the Yuchengco Tower in RCBC Plaza. I'm with Y&R, which USED to be called DYR, with the "D" being "Dentsu". But the "D" was dropped more than 5 years ago; in fact, there is a separate agency called Dentsu Philippines.
So you could be half-right, because what you got wrong is me working for the direct marketing arm. We do have one, but we just share the same floor and office space. =)
I was mostly right. LOL. Yeah, Young and Rubicam na lang without the Dentsu. Wow ha, we were practically neighbors pala.
And you do have your own walking buddha. =) I don't know the guy but I always see him. I actually find him very cute. I think your interior designer was inspired by him...
@ANONIMUS: Neighbors? Where, on the 20th or on the 27th? =)
Our walking Buddha is a writer named Harvey.
I'm not telling which. =) But of course it's either or. We might have seen each other countless times already... in the drop off while smoking... in the elevator... perhaps even in the washroom, who knows? Your office in one of those floors is right across. Ay! Self-incriminating.
Even if I don't work in the industry anymore, advertising still has a strong pull on me. So my ears always perk up when I'm near the offices of an agency. I can still feel the vibes, plus I can't keep my eyes away from your giant Mac monitors. Just peeking lang po, and I have a very long neck.
srsly. may interior designer kayo?
