Watch Me Entertain Myself!

Sacha Guitry once said, "You can pretend to be serious, but you can't pretend to be witty." Oh yes, I'm the great pretender.

Dance With Me?

They say it takes two to tango, three to tangle. Paging Corporate Closet, ahahaha!

Okay, okay, I digress. Take two.

They say it takes two to tango. But for the longest time I can’t seem to find a right dance partner for me. Every time I get dragged onto the dance floor by what turns out to be an inappropriate dance partner, I just end up getting my feet—and heart—trampled over. No wonder I enjoy dancing solo on the ledge, away from it all.

So now I’m wondering: maybe it is not so much finding the One, your perfect dance partner. Maybe everyone’s a worthy dance partner in his or her own right; it’s just that some will jive better with you more than others. To the former you stay with them longer; to the latter, you politely go through the proper steps before twirling gracefully away.

Maybe life is just one big ballroom and everyone gets to try out different partners from time to time. Some are lucky to find a partner whom they want to stick it out with them to the end. Others get bored with just one partner. Still others end up going from one dancer to the next, always looking and never stopping.

Meanwhile I’m still here dancing solo and saying to myself, “Hey, this isn’t so bad. At least the music is kick-ass.”

hmm...sounds like someone's up for a couple of glasses. haha!

dancing is good. it relieves us of our stresses in life (and in love). but choose your kind of dance, otherwise, we'll be having a murder on the dance floor. and we don't want that, do we friend? :)

PAO: Kanina you were channeling Brando. Now you're channeling Michael Jackson with that "blood on the dance floor" reference.

coincidence ba? i was just freak-jivin to joss stone, macy gray and the aretha when i chanced upon your entry hehehe

as long as you're enjoying the rhythm, who cares if someone's dancing with you? life IS dancing with you, and i think that's good enough. personally, there are days when i dont feel like dancing with ANYbody. including my hubby. i just wanna dance alone...preferrably with a mirror on the wall and pole in the middle of the stage, hehehehe.---and on that note; We've gotta get that "show room" set up soon! LOL!

Don't give up. You can say that you are a strong, independent, happy individual. However, being with a partner who will stay with you through thick and thin, and will put up with all your shit and still be with you... one of the greatest things that can ever happen to you. We all deserve The One. And indeed, I think we can all get it. It's just a matter of recognizing that person when he comes and to be brave to let that person into your life.

e baka naman kasi, joel, yung mga taong kinukuha mong maging dance partners e ballet o contemporary-trained. remember that not all dnacers are the same. yeah, we all can be good dance partners one way or another. but even the best ballroom dancer and the best ballet dancer, when put together, will end up throwing each other off and stepping on each other's foot.

diba nga, it's all about values? ;-)

RYE: So, anong klaseng dancers ang dapat kong kunin as partner? Hip hop? Jazz-jazzan? O Ramon Ubusan? O baka naman I have two left feet? Kung ganoon, siguro mag-mime na lang kaya ako...? ;-)
