Watch Me Entertain Myself!

Sacha Guitry once said, "You can pretend to be serious, but you can't pretend to be witty." Oh yes, I'm the great pretender.

Ten-Ten-Ten-Ten!

Because my blog officially turned six years old yesterday and I forgot to mark it.

Because it is now 2010, and ten is a nice round number.

Because it’s arbitrary how I determine the length of seasons anyway.

I arbitrarily declare it season 10 of The McVie Show. (Now I’m considering that each season be one year long. Damn, I might get bored waaay before the year ends.)

* * * * *

The following below was my runner-up for the new banner, so let me show it to you guys anyway. (Sayang naman ang pagod ko.)

i prefer the 'hand' banner': 1) it's more 'graphic'; 2) it comes across as 'from the dark to light'-sort of thing, ergo more poetic; 3) visually, more intriguing; 4) reminds me of the 'happy/sad' mask signifying theater; yin-yang; light dark/dark etc..; 5) i think it's more...'gay' (it has more 'irony'; and 6) well, i don't like the sampung-piso, makes me think of - money (which what it is anyway). it's just being: practical, everything has a value and nabibili, even if it's a shot on visual 'irony' it's bland. though it comes across as "more, more, more" (you know, green background, life, possibilities of more things to come...) it just ain't 'theatrical'.

you write of the 'grand theater' of being a gay male who takes a bite into the humor (or pain) of living... i honestly think, the piso-banner just doesn't cut it. hey, you even write of those 'aha' moments that other thinking gay people who've read what you wrote can actually say, "oh crap, he just said what i was thinking." it's funny and cerebral. methinks, the hand-banner is more apt.

haaay... sowee... ang haba ng comments ko for a "which do you prefer" chuwareewareewap; or am i just being too critical for my own good?

Happy sexennial anniversary!

Is the runner up inspired by the gray fabcast? my impression was mcvie in black and white: no gray areas.

But I like the new banner better. Unlike the flat look of the runner-up, may 3d ang dating ng bago. And the color contrast and texture are high-def. Haneff!
